The Future is Great Eastern Blue
Work is continuing at a great pace at Ian Riley's workshops in Bury, Lancashire to transform ourJ15 Locomotiveinto the guise of a Great Eastern Railway Y14.
With theY14:2014 Appealhaving breached the halfway mark, we are already making another push to raise the remaining £50,000 of the £100,000 target for the works to be completed. Following a fantastic gain in momentum, we are now getting very close to the £60,000 milestone.
Attention has now turned to the locomotive boiler, and with assessment of this completed, thankfully no additional work other than what we have already identified needs to take place. This means, that with all the money raised, there is still a chance to make 2014 the year of the Y14, with her in steam by the year's end - that is, if we can raise the remainder in good time. This is not a wishy-washy statement, but a genuine estimation given the rate and pace of current works, thanks to the fundraising efforts so far.
NOWis the time to dig into those pockets, get the cheque books out and donate to this appeal to see our 102 year old steam engine return to steam. We can't do it without your help and we certainly wouldn't have been able to make the great progress so far without the generosity of our appeal supporters to date. The rate of works so far have been phenominal thanks only to YOUR
generosity.
You can now donate online to the appeal via ourOnline Shop, you can download an appeal form, make a donation when visiting the NNR or post us a cheque. Cheques can be made payable to 'Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway Society' and can be posted to Sheringham Station (NNR), Station Approach, Sheringham, NR26 8RA, with a covering note.
