Sheringham East Update
Following the fire in Sheringham East signal box on 22nd April, inspections have been made to the condition of the building. There has been some damage to the rear of the box so work will start once again to refurbish the structure.
We are extremely lucky that no-one came to harm in this incident, which was caused by a car on fire which was parked below the signal box. This spread to two other adjacent cars, the fencing and the signal box. Without the prompt actions of the public in calling the emergency services and the Norfolk Fire service, the signal box would have been lost or damaged extensively. Our deepest thanks go to all concerned.
Regardless of this setback, work will still continue to restore the signal box and repairs are already underway.
