Gearing up for the Diesel Gala
The M&GN Joint Railway Society is gearing up to support theWeybourne Traction Group'sannual Summer Diesel Gala event over the 13th, 14th & 15th June 2014.
The Society's former Norwich sheddedBrush Type Two (Class 31) D5631, now back in traffic following engine repairs, will be in service on the Friday and Saturday of the event, alongside home engines Class 37 D6732, Class 25 25057 and Class 08 D3940. The gala will be the last event for 47367 before leaving the Railway for pastures new and will be a gala first for the Class 08 which will operate brake van rides at Weybourne.
The event this year commemorates fifty years since the closure of the Sheringham to Melton Constable line. With this in mind, three classic East Anglian designs will visit the Railway in the form of Class 40 D306, courtesy of Boden Rail and two Class 20 locomotives - D8188 and D8059 from the Severn Valley Railway, courtesy of the Somerset & Dorset Locomotive Company Ltd.
