Nigel Scarlett
Joint Heritage Coach Fund
I retired early 5 years ago when made redundant after 40 years as a photocopier service technician. During this time I covered around a million miles, mainly in Norfolk. I have been involved with the Society since 1976, starting at Norwich Victoria coal yard (now Sainsbury's, Queens Road), working on the Gresley TK (the Sheringham children's coach). When the coach moved to the NNR in 1980 I became involved in the Carriage & Wagon department from that point. At one stage I was a passed fireman in the operating department but gave it up due to personal time constraints to concentrate on the carriage and wagon side. I have been on the Society board twice during that time and the second time being the Joint Heritage Coach Fund project leader, working three days a week at the railway on these projects.
